Credits are consumed only for VIES live lookups, which hit the EU's live registry to confirm a VAT number is currently registered and return the business name and address. All format-only checks are always free and don't use credits.
New accounts receive 40 welcome credits. Every month your balance is automatically topped up. Cached VIES results cost fewer credits than fresh live queries.

Results are provided in good faith but we do not guarantee accuracy or completeness. You remain responsible for your own compliance decisions.
